Hummingbird perches are such a fun way to welcome wildlife into your yard, and this one has a bit of extra charm because it's made from a horseshoe!
It’s colorful, lightweight, and easy to hang near your feeders or garden.
Even better, it adds a sweet handmade touch to any outdoor space.

How It Came Together:
I started by lightly sanding the horseshoe and giving it a couple coats of pink craft paint.
While that dried, I stained a small wooden dowel using butcher block oil, it’s food-safe and what I had on hand.
Once everything was dry, I used thin wire to thread beads around both sides of the horseshoe, then used the ends of the wire to attach the dowel at the bottom as the perch.
For the hanger, I glued on a loop of faux suede cord and secured it with a bit of E6000 glue and twine wrapping for good measure.
You can get creative with colors, bead styles, or perch shapes, just keep it lightweight and safe for little bird feet.
If you’d rather shop for one, you can find all kinds of ready-made hummingbird perches and adorable feeder sets on Amazon or take a peek at the supplies I used below.
