ENTRY CLOSET MAKEOVER: DIVIDING THE SPACE WITH A BOOKSHELF

I’ve been wanting to do something creative in our entry closet for a while, basically divide it into two spaces with one side for cleaning supplies and one for jackets, coats, etc.

The entry closet space is 7’ x 10′ and originally had jacket hooks along the side walls, a peg board for miscellaneous items, and white wire closet shelves on the back 6-foot wall.

It was nothing fancy, and being able to divide the room into two separate spaces would be so much more convenient for my needs.

So, I decided to do it.

To divide the space, I had a mind-blowing idea to use a bookshelf that was sitting in my basement.

Yep, it was that easy.

HERE'S HOW THE DIVIDED THE ENTRY CLOSET PROJECT WENT

Once I had the bookshelf set up in the entry closet, I went around and patched holes from the jacket hooks that were in the closet prior, plus any other dings and marks needing repair.

I also attached the bookshelf to the wall with screws and painted it to match the rest of the space.

Once the bookshelf was in the space, I was left with two areas.

One is for guest shoes and jackets, and the back is for cleaning supplies.

HERE'S HOW THE ENTRY CLOSET MAKEOVER TURNED OUT

The bookshelf worked great to divide the space, and if you leave the entry closet door open, you can't even see all the cleaning supplies in the backspace.

Now, I love this little space for guests to hang coats and leave their shoes.
