EASY CRAFT PROJECT: HAND PAINTED EGG CARTONS

I was having a conversation with my brother the other weekend, and we were talking about chicken eggs. I blew his mind when I said I have chickens that lay blue and green eggs since he only thought chicken eggs came in white or brown.

This kind of blew my mind, so I am gifting him a rainbow collection of eggs, farm-fresh from my coop.

To make this special egg delivery even more fun, he’s getting them in hand-painted egg cartons.

Painting these chicken egg cartons took very little time. It’s an easy craft project, and they turned out so PRETTY!

I think this painting project is perfect for all ages, and all you need is egg cartons, craft paint, paintbrushes, and your imagination.

I had a couple of different egg carton options to choose from.

One was a standard carton, and one had a paper cover that I removed before painting.

Of course, my little friend Huey had to check out what I was working on.

First, I painted the lids of my egg cartons with Apple Barrel Indoor Outdoor Paint in the color Green Turquoise.

Next, I made some imperfect circles in FOLKART Multi-Surface Craft Paint in the color Bright Pink Rose.

Before the pink was dry, I used a small, pointed round paintbrush to add some swooshes into the pink paint with FolkArt Craft Paint in Vintage White.

This technique helps give the imperfect pink circles look like rose.

Lastly, I used a thin-tip black marker to add some loose lines, and that's it.

I think these cartons look so pretty, and this was a perfect little project to do between my laundry loads this afternoon.

Hopefully, my brother will enjoy his colorful collection.
