Winter is here, and you know what that means, it’s time to get outside, build a snowman and have some fun in the snow!

Whether you’re a snowman enthusiast or just looking for a fun way to add a little extra cheer to your snowy days, this DIY snow paint project will make your winter adventures even more colorful and exciting.

If you’re lucky enough to live somewhere that gets snow, you’ve probably built your fair share of snowmen.

Over the years, we’ve created everything from giant snowmen to quirky two-headed snowmen, and even snowmen dressed to impress.

But one of the best ways we've jazzed up our snowmen is with snowman paint!

What You’ll Need to Make DIY Snow Paint

  • Water

Making your own colorful snowman paint is simple, and the results are SO much fun!

Plus, you probably already have the supplies on hand.

How to Make DIY Snow Paint

  1. Gather Your Ingredients: Fill your spray bottles or liquid bottles with water. For each bottle, add about 10 drops of liquid food coloring. The more food coloring you add, the darker and more vibrant your snow paint will be.

  2. Mix and Shake: Give your bottles a little shake to mix the color with the water. Make sure the lid is on tight, no one wants blue hands from accidental spills!

  3. Get Creative! Now, it’s time to paint! Spray the snow with your colorful DIY snow paint, or use the liquid bottles to draw fun designs, write messages, or add some festive snow art to your snowman.

Winter Fun with Snow Paint: Creating Colorful Snowmen

Once you’ve made your DIY snow paint, it’s time to have some fun!

Painting snowmen is a must, of course, but we like to take it a step further.

Here on the farm, we create the most unique snowmen, and sometimes we even add a twist—treats hidden inside them for our farm animals.

We poke little holes in our snowman bodies and fill them with small carrot chunks, forage cubes, and mineral pellets.

Then we watch as our ponies, like Cedar, Mixie, and Shiloh, sniff around and search for their hidden snacks.

It’s a great winter boredom buster that keeps the ponies entertained and adds a bit of extra joy to our snowy farm days.
